The below message is what I captured on February 5, 2014 followed by what happened on March 20, 2014:</p> <p> </p> <p>“With my husband traveling all week for the 3rd, 4th week in a row, I couldn’t handle cooking dinner tonight. Decided to go to tarjay to get a very overdue birthday present…wait, make that two overdue presents. Happened to remember that there’s another b’day party coming up. Maybe I’ll be on top of the gift at the party (thank goodness we missed the other parties).</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Anyway, with 3 boys in tow (thank goodness for the Suburban carts @ tarjay), about to check out, I decided to get a PT. Eek! What? What in the hey?</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Yep, I knew it could be true. Too much energy my dear, feeling too great. Not needing sleep….here we go again. This is how I’ve typically felt when pg.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Crazy, right? Well, then I took my crew out to good ole Chappy’s and totally forgot about that test. Got home and started unpacking the goodies from the store. Then, I came across that pink box and thought – why not go ahead and take it now. So on to the bathroom I went.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Then those little crumb snatchers came along. J and B can’t really talk so they were just marching along the tile floor in the bathroom. I did my business and was holding the stick in my hand when all of a sudden B tried to grab it. “Yuk!” I said. Then T comes walking in and is like, “what’s that mom?” I said, “nothing, please go away. One day you’ll think this is gross to come in here while I’m going to the bathroom.”</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>In less than 10 seconds two little lines appeared. I had to take a deep, long breath. Then B tried to grab the stick again – what’s up with that? All three of them were in the bathroom again and there I was staring at the three little stair steps walking around…marching…clueless. </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Excited.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>So excited.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>I love babies. Love them – well, mainly my babies. </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Tonight, going through my head is how two days ago, I read an <a href="http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=25090965">article</a> about how having four children was better than three. Well, maybe not better but supposedly not as overwhelming as having three. Something about becoming more relaxed with four. God willing, we’ll find out in a few months.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>But…there’s more. I’m supposed to be President of Junior League in three months. President. As-in-leading over 100 women. This is scary. Not only because I know it’s a lot of work but also because my (now) President of JL is pregnant and due in two weeks. I love her to death but that baby has taken away her very superior brain cells. Or, she’s sucked the memory out of her. Crap, is that going to happen to me? If so, what is most scary to me is dropping a bunch of responsibility on my PE next year. Maybe being more “relaxed” will come in handy! Ha! </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Next, I have to figure out how to tell Brian. Did I mention he’s traveling? Oh yeah, I did. I looked for a previously made/embroidered “Big Bro” shirt for Blaine to wear. Couldn’t find it so I’ll have to go back to the drawing board. Yep, this is going to be fun.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>So that’s it for now. I at least wanted to capture my thoughts on this day. It’s almost midnight and I’m not even tired. </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>One thing that’s odd so far is that I haven’t had the aura of a migraine yet. This has happened with each pregnancy I’ve had. I’m praying for this child and hope he/she will be healthy. I’ll love him/her either way, of course.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Four. Children. </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Where are they going to fit?”</p> </blockquote> <p>On March 20th, 2014, I wrote:</p> <blockquote> <p>“The fourth child. The one he really wanted. The one I was fine with and was on the boat about but still had a hand on the he dock, not quite ready to drift off. Until, at 10 weeks, that baby didn’t have a heartbeat.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>With no heartbeat, I was heartbroken. Completely heartbroken. All of a sudden I wanted on the boat, way far away from the dock and on my way through another wonderful pregnancy.</p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>Before I became pregnant, my newsfeed filled up with articles about having a forth child. I knew it was destiny. I just knew it! Most of what I got out of the articles is how the forth child is the easiest because each child has a playmate. A few months before, I’d been studying a book about what it would be like being married to me. Delving into learning more about myself, I’d changed my attitude toward my husband and realized how important it was for us to date, for us to spend time together talking and for us to work on our marriage. To be a good wife and to let him know that I love him and want to make him happy not only with his life but with me. Even in the midst of my labor with our third child, he and the doctor were talking about the “forth” child we should have. You know, to “try” for a girl. I’d periodically remind him to rub my lower back as I labored, drug-free, through the upcoming birth of our 10 pound, 6 ounce son. A third son, mind you. So this past fall when our youngest was about to be a year old, he brought it up again. My desire to honor his desires overcame and I thought, “you know, you can do this. God will work this out for you as long as you’re faithful.” Fast-forward to March 20th. No heartbeat. </p> </blockquote> <blockquote> <p>“Thank you for letting us know” is all I could say to the ultrasound tech. My doctor put me in the ultrasound room as a nice gesture for Brian and myself. I think he was almost as excited as us and was so sad to have to talk to me about the options.”</p> </blockquote> <p>The next few days/weeks consisted of seeking God in my sadness, minor surgery, lots of mourning, sharing my experience with friends and trying to make sense of it all. But, it doesn’t need to make sense. My God loves me and will never forsake me. Over the past year, I’ve learned so much. I’ve tried to embrace the need to spend time with my family and prioritize life a little differently. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had the role of President of Junior League. This has been no small feat and it’s taken my mind off of the miscarriage as well as really made me manage my time. I’ve had to say no to a lot and have had to keep promises I committed to previously. I realized I can’t do it all but I can only do what is a priority and what I feel is the best choice. My friends have been wonderful to me. The loss of a child, no matter if it’s at 4/5 weeks, 10, 16 or 36, it hurts. Period. The pain is real and it makes an impact on your life. Forever. I’ve learned this from my own experience but mainly from friends who have had losses themselves. While I wish none of us ever had to endure such a thing, the community of ladies who have reached out to me during such a sad time has been heartwarming.</p> <p>Fast forward three months after my surgery, I realized I wanted a fourth child. Brian always did but after that loss, I wasn’t so sure. It was such a painful loss. A year after the surgery, I’m almost 40 weeks pregnant with boy number 4. Elated and excited, I’m waiting patiently for him to make his grand entrance. One little piece of me feels like Graham can’t come into this world until I mention the loss from a year ago. Why? I don’t know, it’s just a feeling I have. So while I talk about having my fourth child, it’s tough because technically I have a little baby in heaven. Shortly after the miscarriage, while doing prayers with Troy, he asked about the baby in my belly. I had to explain to him that Jesus wanted the baby with him in heaven more than on Earth. Out of the blue, Troy said he wanted to see baby “Andrew” here at home. Now, we never talked about the sex of the baby (and don’t really know) but Troy named him that night. So I feel like I have a baby, Andrew, in heaven. </p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-18059971751689851342014-11-01T21:23:00.000-05:002015-03-27T21:24:46.606-05:00Halloween 2014<p>The fall. One of my favorite times of the year. We always go to a pumpkin patch (or two or three), pick pumpkins, carve them and roast the seeds. Yummy!</p> <p>We’ve had a little gathering of trick or treaters the past 5 years, too. Our little nook in the neighborhood is perfect for hitting up a few houses, coming back for some grub and letting the kids hand out candy. They love it!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ujntlvmL1Qc/VRYQwMvQhBI/AAAAAAAAHGk/xeTWN4mSoJI/s1600-h/DSC_9560%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img title="DSC_9560" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; Although I had not shared it with many people, I was around 16 or so weeks pregnant. AND I was exhausted! Blaine, while so much fun, is a Mama’s boy. He did not want anyone to help him except for me. That meant carrying his 36 pound self (yes, 36 pounds at age 2) around and tending to him. My mom and sisters helped as much as possible but when the kid cries when talked to, I’m sure it was hard to want to help him. Nonetheless, we had a blast. Once we actually got TO the beach or IN the condo, everything was fine. That boy!</p> <p>On the other hand, Justin and Troy were wonderful and played great with their cousins. So we’re talking about 5 boys at 5, 5, 3, 3 and 2 plus a 3 year old girl. Whew! </p> <p>Papa John came down one night to let the ladies go out to dinner. We had the BEST time and laughed a lot. It was super sweet for him to do that. </p> <p>Once I got the car packed and got my boys in the car, I felt so relieved…I was exhausted! The drive home was pretty quiet and uneventful.</p> <p>Overall, it was a wonderful trip and I’m so glad I took all 3 boys. On this particular trip, I (unfortunately) didn’t take any pictures of my dad. But, Brian took Troy over to Dad’s house to shoot guns (eek!). I stayed at Grandma’s with Justin and Blaine. We all had such a great time. The two little ones loved running around in the yard watching the tractors bale hay. </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ZIbm1IQezZw/VRTS0bzzMEI/AAAAAAAAHFI/onH7yBAWYdc/s1600-h/_DGL8215%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="_DGL8215" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="_DGL8215" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-VhzTCVaATJA/VRTS02niMsI/AAAAAAAAHFM/iQ6YRpLCTy8/_DGL8215_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="531" height="355" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-QXc9gSWC0Qk/VRTS1ajTylI/AAAAAAAAHFU/RNDtBTDe7lM/s1600-h/_DGL8257%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="_DGL8257" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="_DGL8257" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-a9T8oW2CP34/VRTS13Z7nRI/AAAAAAAAHFc/_8X0fmlE2ZI/_DGL8257_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="527" height="353" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-RISJQkn_pVY/VRTS2BzvOBI/AAAAAAAAHFo/dkKNlJjpwuk/s1600-h/_DGL8234%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="_DGL8234" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="_DGL8234" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-sKygCBaFWuI/VRTS2ZP9niI/AAAAAAAAHFs/YFJ6JlnxklI/_DGL8234_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="326" height="219" /></a><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-7929BhXyP3c/VRTS4FqzyuI/AAAAAAAAHF4/OiSKtGiCHAo/s1600-h/_DGL8235%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="_DGL8235" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="_DGL8235" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-4UU6lfUqqX8/VRTS4W1ssHI/AAAAAAAAHF8/hL2DbdG4bas/_DGL8235_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="331" height="222" /></a></p> <p>I love this picture of Grandma with the boys. Later, I asked him about his tooth. Low and behold, in his little mouth were two new teeth coming in behind his front two teeth. Three days later, while eating corn, he lost his first tooth.</p> <p>I asked him what it meant to lose a tooth. He told me the “fairy tooth” would come and leave him some monies. Well, he was right but he thought the fairy tooth wouldn’t take his tooth. I assured him she would probably give them back once he grew all of his big kid teeth. He thought that made perfect sense.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-dHKxe6M6x24/VRTI32AmFDI/AAAAAAAAHEg/k4oJSilaP7Q/s1600-h/Troy%252520lost%252520tooth%252520%2525281%252520of%2525201%252529%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="Troy lost tooth (1 of 1)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Troy lost tooth (1 of 1)" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-qEyBXOIuGl4/VRTI4FucD0I/AAAAAAAAHEo/XAiF-iipP9k/Troy%252520lost%252520tooth%252520%2525281%252520of%2525201%252529_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="425" height="636" /></a><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-0fumL5-fUKw/VRTI4wXncWI/AAAAAAAAHEw/mEtu0_kRCUY/s1600-h/Troy%252520tooth%252520%252520%2525281%252520of%2525201%252529%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Troy tooth (1 of 1)" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Troy tooth (1 of 1)" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-muKHEL9KstM/VRTI5e-C9zI/AAAAAAAAHE4/MZpNgcPRrsI/Troy%252520tooth%252520%252520%2525281%252520of%2525201%252529_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="427" height="638" /></a></p> <p>On another note, I was a little sad. Why in the world was I sad about him losing his first tooth? Honestly I surprised myself because it means he’s growing faster than I expected. What made it better was how PROUD he was of losing that tooth. A week later he lost the other one! And all of this right before he turned 5.</p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-80335039153247825282014-04-21T21:46:00.000-05:002015-03-26T12:12:08.293-05:00Easter 2014<p>Easter. Such a special time. We had both sets of grandparents come to town and had a blast. </p> <p>We had our annual egg hunt at our house. Everyone had such a fun time!</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-o2nFt2CT2Xo/VRQ9xbziryI/AAAAAAAAG9Y/B3rKrMQWiQI/s1600-h/DSC_92763.jpg"><img title="DSC_9276" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC_9276" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-j8zVECrPbRE/VRQ9yPBgdBI/AAAAAAAAG9g/OSsfKCqboVs/DSC_9276_thumb4.jpg?imgmax=800" width="767" height="546" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-MY0rue6XIXY/VRQ9yyJoI4I/AAAAAAAAG9o/gyIF2SZI_WI/s1600-h/Boys-at-hunt.jpg"><img title="Boys at hunt" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="Boys at hunt" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-A6JH7SNyyAY/VRQ9zQWlwBI/AAAAAAAAG9w/qe5tQJJqRt0/Boys-at-hunt_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="767" height="529" /></a></p> <p>The next day, we headed over to the club for brunch and another egg hunt. All of the grandparents were there…but I can’t find the pictures?! </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-moZGpmRxhQY/VRQ9z_20wBI/AAAAAAAAG94/ujdU_LS11Us/s1600-h/DSC_95324.jpg"><img title="DSC_9532" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="DSC_9532" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Hown32O-iOc/VRQ90VpXk-I/AAAAAAAAG-A/2KQR4Hi9Myc/DSC_9532_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="377" height="569" /></a></p> <p>Blaine was hilarious carrying around the “some” sight word card. The parents got strep throat (twice each), the middle and baby boys got salmonella (gross) and the oldest child got the shingles. </p> <p>Don’t.even.get.me.started. </p> <p>Here’s hoping 2014 will be good to us!</p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-17793318353739056722013-08-23T20:43:00.000-05:002013-08-24T16:43:49.531-05:00Preschool for Troy and Justin<p>Both boys started preschool this past week. They have been precious about going to school. </p> <p>Troy needs a little extra structure and interaction with some kids his age. Justin needs to be around peers for his speech development. So we kept Troy at our church preschool and added Justin in with him.</p> <p>On the first day, Justin was so excited to go along with Troy. As we were walking him to the car, he was pumping his fists while yelling “yay! yay!”. His preschool has carline drop off which makes it SO easy to drop them off. For their first day, Brian and I both went to drop him off. As he was being walked away from our car, he was looking back at me as if to say, “uh, what are you doing to me and with whom am I leaving?” He’s done great this week (he only goes part of the week) and has been pretty worn out at naptime.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-MFSUO_knUg4/UhkpB8pAAJI/AAAAAAAAGiU/PKo1vXO9L0A/s1600-h/T%252520and%252520J%252520first%252520day%252520pic%2525202%25255B1%25255D%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img title="T and J first day pic 2" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="T and J first day pic 2" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-DT30DoeWmrQ/UhkpCt3R__I/AAAAAAAAGic/CE0YUAMzaA4/T%252520and%252520J%252520first%252520day%252520pic%2525202%25255B1%25255D_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="709" height="491" /></a></p> <p>Troy, on the other hand, is in the “three” year old class although he turns four about a month after he starts school. Either way, he already has some buddies in his class and will probably do a great job at getting them in trouble with him. Typical boy I suppose. He LOVES preschool so this is a good thing for him. They are practicing the red/yellow/green light system. Basically each kid starts on the green light. If they get in trouble, they are moved to the yellow light and two (sometimes more) warnings will then put them on the red light. The kids are somewhat bribed by candy or goodies as a reward to staying on the green light. </p> <p>So each day this week his teachers said he had “a great day” and had been a good boy. Wednesday, I asked him how his day had been and he told me he had a bad day. Specifically, he said he got in trouble for throwing bark at other kids. He raised his hand to a certain level above his head and said that they are big kids and were “this” tall. I asked him about this at least 4-5 times. Each time he said he was put on the red light. Then, he said his friend Walker and Brady were put on the yellow light for throwing bark at other kids.  This was confusing because his teachers had specifically said he had been so good. Come to find out, after getting the details from his teachers, he never got in trouble. What gives? Why make up the story? </p> <p>So we did find out that he got put in time out one day this week for jumping on a kid after his toy was taken away. Nice. Nice.  So I realize I need to read books on raising boys. Just need to carve out the time and do it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Jy6CTMef2RA/UhkpDUzSLvI/AAAAAAAAGik/AfbZqec_YM8/s1600-h/J%252520first%252520day%252520pic%25255B1%25255D%25255B1%25255D.jpg"><img title="J first day pic" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="J first day pic" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XZEoYQri9Lk/UhkpDwfxK8I/AAAAAAAAGis/E-FxoJ5p4Rg/J%252520first%252520day%252520pic%25255B1%25255D_thumb.jpg?imgmax=800" width="344" height="525" /></a><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-n_Ikxe5lLi4/UhkpEUsfivI/AAAAAAAAGi0/T80nqMUo3Gs/s1600-h/T%252520first%252520day%252520pic%25255B1%25255D%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img title="T first day pic" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="T first day pic" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-v41jZidEygE/UhkpFLg6qYI/AAAAAAAAGi8/VECMM3rSywg/T%252520first%252520day%252520pic%25255B1%25255D_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="335" height="522" /></a></p> <p>I made these little matching outfits with fabric from Dr. Seuss’ <em>Oh The Places You Will Go!</em> It’s so adorable! Anyway, as I was taking a picture of Try, I realized that I forgot to hem one leg of his pants. Luckily it was just that one side so it didn’t take long to fix it. </p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-11033247242016806002013-08-22T22:30:00.000-05:002013-08-24T10:31:04.610-05:00Blaine at Eleven Months<p>Here we go…the countdown to the big 1. Seriously, how did time go by so fast? My little “baby” is still just that, a baby…but he’s a mover and a shaker. I’ve been glad that he’s been exclusively nursed this whole time. In fact, when I’m nursing him is the only time he’s still…except for when he’s sleeping. So anyway, he’s also developed a little temper.</p> <p>He doesn’t like to be changed so he’ll grunt and throw his hands up and down to let you know. And, if he gets a toy taken away from him (because he only wants age inappropriate toys), he will try to hit you. What’s up with that? It’ll be interesting to see how that develops.</p> <p>On other news, he’s talking more and more. He started crawling a little after he turned 9 months and has been all over the place. In the morning after getting milk, he crawls all over the house. Blaine seems to have a ton of fun keeping us on our toes. Gone are the days of him staying in one place for longer than 2 seconds. Entertainment at its finest. </p> <p>The brothers have become afraid of him, like he’s some sort of monster. The creature eyes one toy, heads that way and the two older brothers lose it – like screaming as if they were little girls. Ridiculousness at its best. Again, very entertaining.</p> <p>Anyway, Blaine is a fun little thing and still as sweet as he can be.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Uc1S8kiGlFc/UhjNlFS_umI/AAAAAAAAGgY/0sbTf1hWQd8/s1600-h/10%252520months%252520pic%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="10 months pic" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="10 months pic" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-46lL-BOWUGk/UhjNl2TgIoI/AAAAAAAAGgg/FKJkKSHd-Gc/10%252520months%252520pic_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="632" height="493" /></a></p> <p>The kid loves to crawl all over the place. Concrete, hardwood floors, carpet, you name it….but he’d rather crawl in grass than anywhere else. We had the yard sprayed for bugs/insects (and biting creatures) but he still ends up with little bites on his legs. He doesn’t seem to mind yet.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-rbRR6iDWV3c/UhjNmaw-XKI/AAAAAAAAGgo/uGvl4WFMU-E/s1600-h/b%252520looking%252520to%252520side%252520in%252520grass%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="b looking to side in grass" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="b looking to side in grass" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-gfDSd4qJgGE/UhjNnMNxq1I/AAAAAAAAGgw/8E6uavpFB8w/b%252520looking%252520to%252520side%252520in%252520grass_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="631" height="435" /></a></p> <p>Some determined little feet…</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-CELpWjHRnZc/UhjNnnkym_I/AAAAAAAAGg4/Msu8I0p7irA/s1600-h/standing%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="standing" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="standing" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-NbDXD1nQEYM/UhjNocCppmI/AAAAAAAAGhA/qH1wljCCAsc/standing_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="371" height="560" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-81983264454622375072013-08-22T21:57:00.000-05:002013-08-24T09:58:40.107-05:00Blaine at Nine Months<p>A little butterball, full of life and happiness. He’s cutting teeth left and right. And is SO heavy! Problem is he loves to be held. It’s lovely for a while but when you feel like your arm is going to fall off, you have to put him down. He’s not a fan of being put down.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-fq7QynWxe3A/UhjJ_nQN1cI/AAAAAAAAGe0/SLgFGwADkqc/s1600-h/Blaine-9-months5.jpg"><img title="Blaine 9 months" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="Blaine 9 months" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcPlyjxnPmVI_iwZKNHBP45Unl_CWoQsznhRDVbhHQTr5GddkduFFk0d1C724uvSX0-iKRdr5tND_UbbTUWWLT4kbzmB5X-NuG1m9k68gCwtyPmwREr-uSGh81GuDxSRGbOLijIprG6Nk/?imgmax=800" width="367" height="559" /></a></p> <p>Oh the concentration here….using that pincher grasp. Sweet boy is still sitting up like a charm but is completely content with staying in one spot this month.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ETuNlL7IFIo/UhZehxdkFcI/AAAAAAAAGds/G2x38KSItBE/s1600-h/8%252520months%252520stretched%252520out%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="8 months stretched out" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="8 months stretched out" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-AOyI1NGHy8o/UhZeidc-qtI/AAAAAAAAGd0/OddQxVMYlaQ/8%252520months%252520stretched%252520out_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="362" height="547" /></a></p> <p>For Mother’s Day (this month), I took Troy and B to my cousin’s barn in Tuscaloosa. It’s actually a pretty neat/nice place with 5 bedrooms on the top, stalls on the bottom, big bays on the side, bays on the front, a concrete floor, kitchen up and downstairs, laundry room, bathrooms, etc. Enough to house my cousins, their 3 kids (2 sets of cousins), my mom, sisters and all of our kids. We had a blast! Justin and Brian stayed home because Justin was feeling sick. Turns out he had salmonella…..maybe I’ll write more about that later.</p> <p>Below is one of my favorite pics of Blaine. He shared his cord blood when he was born. I kept forgetting to get his picture in the shirt so I could send it back to the hospital. The shirt just fit him (or maybe it was too tight, you be the judge). But, he was so sweet and innocent sitting up straight here. In the background is the land around the barn.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-fLjQmY75luQ/UhZeiyy5EAI/AAAAAAAAGd8/JK80D64RVMQ/s1600-h/cord%252520blood%252520donation%252520shirt%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="cord blood donation shirt" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="cord blood donation shirt" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ZrcH6B-OWow/UhZejirssjI/AAAAAAAAGeE/aN-D-aaGkio/cord%252520blood%252520donation%252520shirt_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="412" height="627" /></a></p> <p>Justin has begun a true interest in Blaine. He can make him laugh which provides entertainment for all. Yep, third child syndrome has set in at our house. Well, it set in a while ago I suppose. Keeping up with the blog has proven to be difficult.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-D5KvOy7gAtQ/UhZYwk7MiUI/AAAAAAAAGb0/gN4CXrnfSHw/s1600-h/eyes%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="eyes" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="eyes" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-mTUyLWfwZhM/UhZYxsxuFAI/AAAAAAAAGb8/xTa1X9u_t8Y/eyes_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="532" height="335" /></a></p> <p>So….back to Blaine. He turned 7 months at the beginning of April. What else happened in April? Blaine started sitting up confidently. And with such perfect posture! His little feet and legs would lay straight on the ground while he sat up as straight as a board.</p> <p>His smiles come all the time. All.the.time.</p> <p>And we started to think about moving him to his crib. This mama wasn’t ready to move the kid out of his parents room.</p> <p>His eye teeth came in right after his two bottom teeth. So for a brief few weeks, he looked like a baby vampire. I’ve loved taking him with me where I go: the grocery store, a ladies night out at the local running club. You name it, he’s easy so I take him with me. He garnered so much attention at the ladies night that he ended up in the “fashion show” with one lady. Then he decided to spit up (a lot) – but at least he only got that on me and the floor. Oops.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-5KbmTYM6QEI/UhZYyEnBbSI/AAAAAAAAGcE/xZJfy3cbeO8/s1600-h/7%252520months%2525204%252520teeth%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="7 months 4 teeth" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="7 months 4 teeth" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-zi3udyOm5G8/UhZYyxt8R5I/AAAAAAAAGcM/CIkMmHv9abM/7%252520months%2525204%252520teeth_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="513" height="447" /></a></p> <p>Peek-a-boo is one of his past-times.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-2Ukk_0_tUmo/UhZYzTZFxiI/AAAAAAAAGcU/BRqN-GgVuQI/s1600-h/Brian%252520playing%252520peek%252520a%252520boo%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img title="Brian playing peek a boo" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Brian playing peek a boo" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-qH0p64zLBN0/UhZYz_xDPiI/AAAAAAAAGcc/TeTQna00qzk/Brian%252520playing%252520peek%252520a%252520boo_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="505" height="582" /></a></p> <p>He went to his first big social outing (I think it was his first) to a fun event in Opelika called On the Tracks. Sure, they are (were) just a few trees. But, they were filled with pomp and circumstance, tradition and love. I specifically recall one Sunday after the Auburn/Alabama game back in 1997 or 1998 when Brian and I came to Auburn just to see the trees. It was like snow. I have the photos somewhere collecting dust. Anyway, anybody who’s been to downtown Auburn probably has some sort of memory about the trees. A few years ago, a man poisoned the trees with some pretty potent stuff and the trees have slowly declined. They were cut down on April 23rd.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-7UGNWYWj1lc/UhZY1ln55ZI/AAAAAAAAGc0/aZExGkH5NVQ/s1600-h/3%252520boys%252520with%252520tree%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="3 boys with tree" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="3 boys with tree" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ELQ7M0n88J8/UhZY2Z13gHI/AAAAAAAAGc8/CCAmQVixHdY/3%252520boys%252520with%252520tree_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="198" height="293" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-EnbGrnOirBA/UhZY24En46I/AAAAAAAAGdE/ce-vZVekr_8/s1600-h/blaine%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="blaine" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="blaine" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ClQiaaTOVHA/UhZY3pTLbvI/AAAAAAAAGdM/jkhcj2Xg_ug/blaine_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="418" height="289" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-t8avzKDC4W4/UhZY4H-yGCI/AAAAAAAAGdU/4-6JhYrfYaU/s1600-h/Memama%252520and%252520grandy%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img title="Memama and grandy" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="Memama and grandy" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-zRZ9IqgaiPk/UhZY4j9h77I/AAAAAAAAGdc/tK_PZw9guF0/Memama%252520and%252520grandy_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="172" height="289" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-62830313867651052013-06-23T23:29:00.001-05:002013-06-23T23:30:33.137-05:00Hi!<p>Sure…I’m way behind on my little blog. Been doing other stuff…</p> <p>One of the things I’ve done:</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-MYL9n1V0Lbo/UcfLLqO5bZI/AAAAAAAAGY8/-aMM_Lu52ts/s1600-h/baby%252520books%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img title="baby books" style="border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px" border="0" alt="baby books" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-8uxXZw8DjJE/UcfLML6h03I/AAAAAAAAGZE/bq1UCuzwGsM/baby%252520books_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="716" height="498" /></a></p> <p>I updated all three baby books! Only had to put Troy’s 3rd birthday picture and update but had a bunch to do with Justin and Blaine’s books. Man, that feels GOOD!</p> <p>Only took a trip down to the beach to get it done. It’s amazing what a few hours being forced to be in one place will allow me to do!</p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-80605093008877880022013-04-05T21:52:00.000-05:002013-04-05T21:52:00.389-05:00Week 3 Photo 2013<p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Ga0Qtz5ho90/UV7lcskH0wI/AAAAAAAAGU4/cJt9-o_G62s/s1600-h/B%252520with%252520cup%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="B with cup" border="0" alt="B with cup" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-Zi1QzvC2P88/UV7ld23YPLI/AAAAAAAAGVA/c7N9hQ8TThw/B%252520with%252520cup_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="301" height="428" /></a></p> <p>Wearing the gown KK and I made and the cup KK gave him for when he was born!</p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-86598061725419164242013-04-05T17:14:00.000-05:002013-04-05T17:14:00.072-05:00Week 13 Photo 2013<p>Typical Blaine.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-W2FsJisOXFs/UV8UgykxN5I/AAAAAAAAGXo/YHQ-YXal9ew/s1600-h/Blaine%252520bunny%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Blaine bunny" border="0" alt="Blaine bunny" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-MzYnrSp8DqY/UV8UhqgdlPI/AAAAAAAAGXw/3KAb5lrQ_tI/Blaine%252520bunny_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="402" height="600" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-76287730556702502612013-04-04T23:58:00.000-05:002013-04-05T11:59:05.514-05:00Week 10 Photo 2013<p>The night before the Seaside Half Marathon in Seaside, FL. Since I was in charge of games for the kids, Google was my buddy while getting ready for the party. I got paper sacks, cut a hole for the head and arms, cut some “fringe” at the bottom and cut out some shapes from my Silhouette Cameo. Added some stickers to the pile and each child made their own cowboy/girl vest. Isn’t it adorable?! Justin wore his ALL DAY because he loved it so much.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-bhyvTei5V70/UV8UEi230sI/AAAAAAAAGXY/x9rmOMCt2cQ/s1600-h/cowboy%252520vest%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="cowboy vest" border="0" alt="cowboy vest" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ylshRRYlWCs/UV8UFNXAZoI/AAAAAAAAGXg/Uve4KW3D0eM/cowboy%252520vest_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="386" height="583" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-27321429039208253452013-04-04T23:40:00.000-05:002013-04-05T12:41:20.039-05:00Week 11 Photo 2013<p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-4k9Z84ahIPM/UV8MvMu9NzI/AAAAAAAAGXI/RUmgqeEOcBQ/s1600-h/on%252520belly%252520smiling%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="on belly smiling" border="0" alt="on belly smiling" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ipnTsNlNeoE/UV8Mvrz8dxI/AAAAAAAAGXQ/cp2F2kpO7Jo/on%252520belly%252520smiling_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="606" height="392" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-85919151763660781462013-04-04T22:55:00.000-05:002013-04-05T10:55:31.046-05:00Week 9 Photo 2013<p>Justin’s sweet smile.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-UGQ2lT9qGdg/UV7z8DgH5_I/AAAAAAAAGWY/PFErb0WqF8Y/s1600-h/photo%25252843%252529%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="photo(43)" border="0" alt="photo(43)" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/--skA1j0vXpw/UV7z8bSRbQI/AAAAAAAAGWg/RDREXNjhgtc/photo%25252843%252529_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="446" height="608" /></a></p> Elysehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08894391522559625155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6939053402161045856.post-26727259957332262482013-04-04T22:47:00.000-05:002013-04-05T10:49:04.645-05:00Week 8 Photo 2013<p>My precious, precious Justin’s birthday!
