Showering our baby with Love (and gifts)

Troy had his first shower this past weekend, given by some great friends of ours. Brian and I belong to this awesome group of folks who enjoy running (aorta) and several of our buddies from that group came to celebrate the coming arrival of Troy. We had a blast and are so excited about using the things Troy has been given. Thanks to ALL who helped and who came. It was an awesome party!!! Below are some photos:
Group of hosts. I forgot to change the ISO so the photo is grainy. Oh well!

Baby Bjorn! Yay!

Look at all the stuff Troy got!

Cute bootie cupcakes. They were yummy, from Gourmet Tiger. Awesome!

So if you're wondering how the pregnancy is going, I'm here to tell you it's going great. I'll continue to be grateful for these wonderful days. Yes, it's hot but it doesn't seem more hot than any other summer in Alabama (to me). Our little pumpkin likes to kick a lot and he kicks especially when I use the baby plus (twice a day). I think this either means he loves it or doesn't love it at all. So, our air still isn't working correctly. The repairman came yesterday and used some sort of sealant and filled it with freon again. The issue at hand is that we have a home warranty and have to use their folks for repair work. The repairman is very nice and knows about the pregnancy and I know he's trying as hard as he can to get us taken care of. However, we're now being told (by the company where he had to order the new coils) that the coils are on backorder and may be up to SIX weeks before they come in. The air was working okay until a couple of hours ago and apparently the freon has run out already. The six week delay would be fine and dandy if we didn't have company coming a couple of times before the baby comes. It's just inconvenient, you know? I'm keep trying to be patient and have been fine with it until the freon ran out. I mean, are they going to have to come every other day to fill it back up? Seems cumbersome to me. My mother is coming this weekend and it looks like we'll be putting her in our other guest bedroom and will probably have to share a bathroom with her. I know, it probably doesn't sound like a big deal. But, we're having to trek back and forth through the house to get our clothes and such. I'm praying for a backorder miracle :o)
Lastly, did anyone watch Jon & Kate last night? It made me so sad. I haven't watched a single episode this season because I didn't want to see them not talking. I cannot believe they're divorcing. I know there's been all of this hype with the media but deep down, I truly thought they would try and work things out. Did they try counseling? I wonder. It seems as though they didn't because they never mentioned counseling. I just hate it for them, all of them. Kate didn't seem happy about it but who knows what the real story is. I find it interesting that Jon had earrings in both ears. Maybe he's going through an early mid-life crisis. I'll keep praying for them but I am sad that she filed for divorce yesterday. Bummer.
Y'all have a good week and look for my 30 week photos soon. OMG, I can't believe I'm THAT far along!!!

28 Weeks

So really I'm right at 29 weeks but who's counting, right? I've been on a blogging hiatus. Lots of things going on in our household, namely work. Been busy but I'm very grateful. I passed my insurance test I took last week, praise the Lord! What a load off my shoulders that has been! I've missed sewing more than I thought but have been able to dive right back into it. I've been doing some stuff for others but I did get to finish 2 outfits for baby Troy. I've attached photos below. I'm still on track with making an outfit a week (well, I'm ahead of schedule) so my short hiatus hasn't been a burden on the sewing machine at all :o) . I did take a class and made an apron for myself which I'll post one of these days. Maybe when I'm super pregnant.
On another note, things are still going great with the pregnancy. It's hot out there, as you all who live in Alabama know but it's bearable. I can't tell a difference in the way it felt outside when I wasn't pregnant in the summer! Oh, and get this, our air conditioner on one side of the house has gone out. The repairman came yesterday and of all things the coil needs to be replaced. First of all, I'm grateful that it's not any worse but I wouldn't have been that upset had the whole unit need replacing (I mean that's why we pay for a home warranty, right)! But, it's not that bad....again, I'm grateful that I'm not miserable in the heat. Brian and I are fortunate enough that we can live on the other side of the house. So, we're sort of camping in one of our guest bedrooms. It's kind of neat, though. Sort of like staying in a hotel but I still have my kitchen. I know that the bed we're sleeping in is comfortable and I love the shower we're using (yesterday was the first time using it). The repairman had to order a new coil (I mean, don't people keep them stocked in the summer for things like this) and should be here Monday morning. Until then, we're enjoying camping on the guest side of the house. Yeah, Brian tried playing the pregnant wife card and he said the repairman tried very hard to find a coil but it just didn't work. Takes me back to my first year working with the Farm when people's AC units would go out and they'd complain about the lack of cool air. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that and now I sort of know how they feel.

On a more positive subject, some of our wonderful friends are throwing the FIRST baby shower for little Troy. We're super stoked about it and I'll be sure and update the blog with his little blessings. Thank the Lord for friends (and family) - this whole baby thing is way out of our league!

26 Weeks

Well, I guess I'm really 27 weeks now but I'm doing a photo once a week. Below is a photo of me at 26 weeks. As you can tell, Troy is growing! My doctor's appointment this past week went off without a hitch, my glucose and iron levels are normal. Thank the Lord! Work and life have been very busy here lately. I got some sewing done last week but nothing this week. I think I've made up for a few weeks by all that I made the weeks prior to this one and next week. Studying for another test next week so I won't be sewing until the week after next.

We went to Niceville to spend some time with Brian's parents, his brother and family. We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Thanks for a great time. Below is Troy's newest gift. Thanks Memama and Grandy!!! The lamp on the table came from them, also. Doesn't it match perfectly? I'm sure Troy will be so grateful one day :o) Ha!
