December 25, Day 25

Happy Happy Birthday to Jesus. What a wonderful reason to celebrate!!!

So it snowed Christmas Day. We were in Auburn, then Hope Hull and finally rested in Wetumpka. It snowed that evening. I cannot remember it ever snowing Christmas Day wherever I’ve been in Alabama. Fun day, a bit exhausting. More to come later…..

Yes, I took this photo. No, that is NOT me. Love it, though.

December 22, Day 22

Nothing to do with Christmas but sometimes you do things just to make it work out, right? An outfit I've just about finished for a friend's little girl's first birthday. I have done a good bit of modification to it but I really love it!

December 21, Day 21

You know how sometimes you don't think about feeding your child something because you don't make it? That's me and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. In Kindergarten, my mom made me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches daily to take to school. I stopped eating them and have pretty much not eaten them since.

Two days ago, I saw a commercial for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, made one for Troy then and again tonight. I think these 2 photos speak for themselves.

P.S. He also likes radishes and lemons (like his mother).

December 20, Day 20

In between work, taking care of a toddler, wrapping presents (just about finished!), getting ready for the Auburn Half Marathon (nope, not running this time) and trying to get some Shrimp and Grits Kids parties planned, I've been doing a little bit of this:

Those are two monograms that royally messed up in the midst of doing their jobs. The fabric is ultra thick (quilted) so it has made the monograms a bit difficult. After doing a LOT of seam ripping, I think they'll be fine. Joy!

December 16, Day 16

Oh how busy Christmas can be! We have had an event every day this week, and it continues until next week. I love it, though. Having families and friends gather for fun, food and celebration is wonderful!

Today was AORTA's Christmas party. I have been the social director for a couple of years but will be passing it on (hopefully) to someone else because I've taken over as race director of our local half marathon. Yes, pregnant, planning another race in April, one in January (the half) and my little social thing for aorta. I haven't started stressing out about it (yet). Just have a god bit to get done. I do have help, thank goodness!

AORTA stands for Auburn Opelika Running and Track Association. Sounds official but it's a cornucopia of all sorts of runners, from semi-elite (one person has run in the olympic marathon qualifiers) to walkers. And, I'm the only current pregnant runner - albeit a slow one. Very fun people and I thank God for meeting the people in the club. It's been so much fun. We've gone on some pretty spectacular trips together.

See that man sitting to the right of my photo? That's Alvin, long term president of our running club. 72 years old, still running, very funny and generous with a great personality.

Lynsey from bunco is moving out of town! Sad! Meredith had a fun little get together for Lynsey, including a baby shower, before she moves (last night). We will really miss her! Elyse

December 15, Day 15

30 weeks! Well, I will be 30 weeks tomorrow anyway. Had a dr. appt today and since it's so close, I thought it was time for a profile photo. Getting mighty large and in charge. But, I'm right on schedule with my due date and haven't gained too much weight so I guess that's good. Being pregnant during Thanksgiving and Christmas makes it very difficult to refrain!!!

I'll update soon on Troy and his 15 month info. I'm hoping his 31 lbs. he now weighs is more than I will gain!

December 14, Day 14

What to do? Santa's elves delivered something to the house a little before Christmas. Do we put it under the tree and wait? Oh, I'm so confused!

Bunco Party, Auburn Christmas Parade, Brunch with Santa

An eventful weekend. Bunco girls minus a few:
Meredith is always gracious enough to open her house to us all. We always have a ball. I brought my new love with me: sparkling water. Thought everybody else would enjoy. To my delight, they thought it was disgusting so I could indulge! Do you see my large belly?!?! OMG!

Saturday morning, enjoyed Auburn's Christmas parade. Here's a partial belly shot of me.

Troy with his new obsession: Alex!
Mr. Penny. Read about him here.
Maddie, Troy and Anna.
Saturday night we marveled at the Opelika Front Porch Tour. It was cold but a lot of fun. T got a cookie and could spend a little time with his cousins, Anna and Hank. I love Hank's new glasses.
Sunday, we went to Brunch with Santa. The Givens tagged along. Of course T wanted Alex to hold him....again.

Our fam. The food we ate really expanded our bellies (they went down later, of course!).

Random Santa hanging out at Toomer's Corner Saturday.
Troy loved Santa at Moore's Mill. He's the real deal! Give this kid some bells and he's in heaven.
Can you tell he was enjoying himself?
Last one - playing peek-a-boo with the bells.

A little late

Two weekends ago, we ventured back to Niceville for an annual pick-out-the-tree with the family event. And, since I'm the tallest in the Corbitt family (or appear to be anyway), I usually put up the lights. Being 7 months pregnant, I was a little reluctant to get on a ladder and lean over to put on lights. Luckily, the tree wasn't too tall and I could reach most of it. Forgot to get an after photo.

We had a fantastic time. Good company, good food and a GREAT football game. War Eagle! Auburn is on their way to the BCS Championship. Troy wanted to do this:

At the Christmas Tree lot. It only took one lot to find the perfect tree.

B, his brother J with the kids.

Grandy and T.

B (3) and J (almost 8).

Cousins. The 14 month old did NOT want to sit still. He would rather eat sand or run with a frisbee. Elyse

December 13, Day 13

Today is my sister's Birthday. Happy Birthday Mary!!! I don't get to see her that much but I do love her :)
This is T's last week at Goli's until next year. So, he gets to wear Christmas outfits every day this week. His father was hunting and I assumed the only way to get him to stand still was stick him on the counter, yell at him to be still and snap a photo. Yes, a little dangerous, he did like it -no injuries though. In the 2nd photo, he's pointing down and saying "da" for down.

December 12, Day 12

Brunch with Santa today. T decided to play peek-a-boo with the bells. Hope Santa is good to him this year.

We are heading to a concert put on by Martha's Trouble at our church. Thanks to Lizzy for babysitting T. He'll have a blast. The child loves babysitters!
