What a hot one! We had a very warm weekend for sure. Brian traveled all week and was gracious enough to be a sport for a busy weekend. We packed it full with our usual Saturday morning run, volunteering for a few hours, attending a Birthday party, heading over to Auburn's City Fest, going to a Biscuits game and doing some yard work. Thank you so much Brian! He's been very busy with work but has been wonderful to me with completing the "list" of things we want to get done before Troy gets here. I've attached a couple of photos, too. I'll update later this week as well. I've been doing quite a bit of sewing and need to take photos of Troy's outfits (trying to complete my goal of an outfit a week). Hope you all have a wonderful week! Won't be as hot the rest of this week!
Here's my sister Mary at 35 weeks. She's due May 17th and is going to have a BOY! Isn't she SO cute?!?!
Uh...this was sent to me by my friend, Greg. As you can see, I was running very fast :o) Brian and I were helping with a 5k/10k and were waiting on the first 5k finisher to come through the shoot. Brian was being very patient with me...I was getting a bit bored waiting!

Easter, Late Blogging and A-day
I've been a complete slacker with my blog lately. Lots going on with the Corbitt Corner. Let's see, there was the festivities prior to Easter. We enjoyed the Maundy Thursday service, the Friday service, a 5k that both Brian and I ran and then Easter. Thanks to everyone who came and brought some goodies to share. It was wonderful having Easter lunch at our house. Alligare was so generous to provide a turkey to their employees. I haven't mentioned it before, but Brian's company is so giving and family oriented. We are grateful that our move to the Auburn/Opelika area landed him with a job working for Alligare - God was totally in that.
So the 5k went well. Brian beat his PR by FOUR minutes! OMG! My good friend, Tracey, ran with me and I'm so grateful! I am not a fan of running alone altough lately I've found myself doing that more often than not because it's just so darn hard to get up at a quarter to 5 in the morning! I fully expected that 5k to be the last time I'd run for a while but it isn't, so far; we'll see how much longer I'll last. You'll see below that I'm showing now. No one has asked me if I'm pregnant...yet. I'm sure it's coming. I'm tempted to tell them that I'm not but that wouldn't be very nice, but it would be kind of funny. Sounds like something Jack Handey would do. We'll see what happens.
Easter, again, was wonderful. We joined Cornerstone UMC (link is on this page) last month and have been so blessed by this church. God is working in our lives and is so evident in others' lives within that church. We studies Matthew 26 and 27 for the 2 weeks leading up to Easter and are now studying Matthew 28. It's so wonderful to know that my God sacrified his only son for ME! My son isn't even here and it's impossible for me to fathom the same. Hmmm.. Thank you to my mother in law, Ann, for the recipes for squash casserole and lima bean casserole. Folks, those casseroles are out of this world..this is coming from an anti-casserole person, too!
Other things going on include Brian traveling a lot. You'd think I'd get bored but I've been a busy bee for sure. I've now made a goal to post on this blog once a week. Once the baby comes, I'm not sure I'll be ablet o keep that promise to myself but I'll try. I've also made a goal to make Troy one outfit a week. I'll post later on some sewing things I've been working to complete. Not only for my boy but for some friends as well...it'll keep a girl busy!
I think that's it for now. I had to get this on here before my bedtime, I've got 15 minutes! Goodnight!
Brian and me on our back deck at Easter. Should have taken photos of the table but I didn't - I was too busy cooking :o)
Some sewing projects on which I'm working.
We went to the A-Day game with Greg and Michelle, oh and Greg had to have TCBY afterwards. I didn't argue. We had a great time!
This is the valence for the nursery before I put it together. I'm going to update the blog later this week with photos of the finished product.
Me at 20 weeks!!!

18 Weeks
Sounds like it should be a movie. I haven't gotten much larger yet but the doctor says this boy is growing and is where he should be. Y'all just wait...I'm going to blow up one day! I'm hoping that most of the summer maternity clothes will be on sale by the time I'm in need of them! Everything is going well. Brian is traveling and working a lot. It's allowing me a good chunk of time to work on my projects. I've got sewing fever! I have gotten all of my boy patterns out and any fabric that I think I can use for a boy and started to make stacks...well, the stacks got a little out of control SO I've reverted to making one thing at a time. I've now put myself on "sewing shop restriction" for now. I need to use up what I have before I start spending more money on fabrics and patterns. One caveat is that my mother and I are going to work on his Christening gown soon. I've got to work on the design and figure out what I want first. She's going to help me...thanks MOM! I'm SO glad! She's such a wonderful sewer! I need to take photos of the beautiful dresses she's made for my sister Rebecca and put them on the blog. I'll save that for another day.
Below is a photo my sister Rebecca took of me this past Saturday. I'm now 18 weeks..still feeling great. I'm still running like I was before, doing weights and swimming. I thank God for my health! Hopefully the 3rd trimester will also be nice. I'm running outside as much as I can for now because I'm afraid that the summer heat won't be so favorable to my pregnancy. Although most people say that Auburn is flat, it really isn't. I'm getting those hills in there. In my subdivision, there is one area where the sidewalk crosses from one side of the road to the next. Drivers are supposed to yield to pedestrians. Doesn't everyone know this? I mean, I've known that since Elementary school! Sometimes they don't slow down and although I've been tempted to play Russian Roulette with the drivers, I know I won't win a match against a 3500+ pound vehicle. I'll just pray for those drivers and that their subconscious will make them slow down! I don't want to get hit!
The other photo is of the remnant fabric I'm using to make a valence for Troy's room. I should have finished it last night. Of all things, I mis-measured the pom-pom fringe I need by a half of a yard. I'm heading to see my mother tonight and start working on ideas for his outfits so I won't be working on the valence tonight. I should get it finished by Thursday night...just in time for Easter.
Lastly, I THINK I feel little one moving around. Feels like little flutters. He must like it when I move around because I only feel it when I'm still. So cool! Hope you all have a wonderful Hump Day!

Here we go...
We had an eventful day...what a great day! Everything looks great with the baby and we are so excited about our news. We have about 5 months before our lives will change drastically. I was able to finish the little bubble for our blessing who won't be able to wear it until next summer. The other outfit you'll see which is last on the photo album is one I made about 2 years ago. Brian and I chose our child's name about 9 years ago....can't believe it's been that long. I also cannot believe we haven't changed our minds! After we found out, I asked him if he was sure he still liked the name. Thank goodness! Let the sewing and planning begin! It feels so much more real now! If only I could feel this little sucker kicking...
GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

All Hooped and Ready!
Today is the day we find out what name we'll choose for this baby! I'm about to load up on some full caffeine coffee and pray that this baby cooperates. I've got a bubble cut out and halfway assembled...just waiting on the color of the thread and the monogram. Both names are ready to be monogrammed so we'll see! I'm going to spend my lunch break finishing the outfit. Hopefully I'll have the news posted tonight or tomorrow (at the latest). We're praying for a healthy baby...either color will be wonderful!

Sewing Blog
So I've found a few of the things I've sewing over the past couple of years. I realized I haven't been as diligent in taking photos of them before giving them away. I'll try and do better from now on. For now, here's some of what I've made...

Brunswick Stew and Savannah
I found a recipe for Brunswick Stew a few months ago and thought I would make the stew then. Well, I just got around to it this past weekend and boy was it a job! My advice to myself in the future is to pay closer attention to the amount of ingredients in the recipe. Thank goodness Brian helped but it included 6 lbs. of rump roast, 6lbs. whole chicken, 6 lbs. boston butt among the rest of the ingredients (veggies, etc.). I'll say it turned out delicious but we had to freeze a LOT! Check out the photo below of our left overs. If I was having a fundraiser, this would be the way to go. But, for a rainy weekend, it was perfect!
By the way, thank you to David Hennessey for helping peel, cut (I'm missing some meat also) and eat the meat.
Finally...here are some photos I took while we were in Savannah. I took most of them while riding the trolley so they're not of the best quality.

Here are a few photos. I'm now 16 weeks. I haven't posted that many. I enjoy taking animal/bird/insect and landscape photos so I only included a few of those. Also, I've only had one craving and the photo with the cinnamon rolls are those from Giada. Thanks Giada - I obsessed over these things for 3 days until I finally bought the ingredients to make them. I only needed 2 and I was done. I'm trying to eat healthy and I didn't want to eat anything real sweet but they kept speaking to me :o) Here's her recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/hazelnut-cinnamon-rolls-recipe/index.html

Babymoon
No, not as in baby before honeymoon. A friend of mine told me that we were taking a "Babymoon", aka a trip before the baby comes. It's true. Unfortunately we've had to cancel a trip in which we were going to take to Oregon for the Pinot Noir festival. Sorry Gossetts! We've promised to make it up to them. And, if you haven't asked already (some of you have) about selling or giving away our wine we've accumulated from the last 2 trips to wine country....sorry about that, too. It's all okay to keep for a while. We're aging some of them and they won't be opened until this baby is at least in Kindergarten. We'll be glad to share some with you after this baby comes.
On to the trip: We spent a few days in Savannah which were wonderful. Brian had a work thing so I was lucky enough to just do my thing and explore the city. Thanks to some friends for giving me some tips on taking the trolley, how to get into Lady & the Sons and where to shop and eat...I had a great time just figuring things out on my own. We checked in early at the resort in Hilton Head on Friday and were able to explore the island. Since it was our first trip there, we used the concierge for suggestions. Dinners and breakfast included the Old Fort Pub, Hudson's on the Docks, Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe, Signe's and Salty Dog Cafe. The first four were wonderful! I'm so grateful that I can still eat seafood being pregnant. .The beach was not like what I expected. I have only been to the Atlantic Coast once before and I'm amazed that you can actually ride bikes on that beach! Not going to happen on the Gulf Coast!
I took over 300 photos between the two cities and I've got to go through those and find a handful to post. The sunset at Old Fort Pub was breathtaking. I just hope I was able to capture the moment on film. Sunrise yesterday morning was also gorgeous and hopefully those will turn out to be decent. Brian took a shot of me at 4 months (or 16 weeks) and I'll post that also. I don't look much different since the last photo a couple of weeks ago. I've been smocking and am not going to put the plates on any outfits until I find out what we're going to have. I cannot say in words how excited I am to start making some little clothes for this sweet pea (I sure hope he/she is sweet). By the way, yes, crazily I do talk to the baby. I tell him/her to be good :o) I feel like I have a lot more to say to this one some day. We have 11 days until we find out; I have heard of some babies not "cooperating" when trying to find out the sex. I'm on the fence about whether to drink a caffeinated beverage before the ultrasound. I've given up on any sodas since I found out I was pregnant so perhaps I'll have a coffee.
By the way, does anyone know if I should be posting every 4 weeks a photo of me or what I think is every month? One of my baby books says I'm nearing the end of my 4th month. However, I usually count months as 4 weeks in a month which would mean I'm at the beginning of the 4th month. Way too confusing!
Lastly, I forgot to post that I made the bedding for the baby's room. I might post a conglomerate of the fabrics I've used as well. I just love bright, vibrant, primary colors for babies. After working at a specialty toy store for about a year, I learned that bright colors were stimulating. I also love bright colors. You'd probably argue this with me if you saw the rest of my house...it's very warm in the color choices, but I've thrown a bit of color in there. Enough of this post for today....I'll post the photos this week. Another goal...

Nine, Nine in 'Oh Nine!
So Brian and I will be married 9 years and are expecting our first child the ninth month of 2009 (September 5th). I don't believe in luck but if I did, I'd say that our lucky number is NINE! We are very excited to announce this wonderful blessing. We thank God every day for his perfect timing and for our exciting addition to our family in the future. I've attached a current photo of me at 14 weeks. I've created this blog for our friends and family to keep up with us. I'll do my best to update as often as possible. We're leaving for Savannah and Hilton Head next week so hopefully I'll have some new photos to post then. I'll also start an update of the baby growing. Next week will be 4 months so I'll keep up with the progress according to months. I fully expect to balloon but as long as I feel great (and I have so far), I don't care; well, not too much anyway.
